And Away We Went

We did it!  We took the trip that we said we would never be able to do for so many reasons!  We visited Michael Jr. in England. All 6 of us together, after 7 months of only being 5 of us.
What an incredible trip it was.

Having never traveled abroad, this was all so new to us.
Taking Kellyanne was something we had gone back and forth on for a bit.
Would she be okay medically?
Was it worth the amount of $$ it would cost to have her and Michael come?
Would she "get enough out of it" ?
The answer to all is a resounding YES!!!!

Our family....our family, exactly the way our family is, went on a wonderful journey.
One that I will  remember vividly and treasure always.

As my children get older and experience life apart from "home", "mom and dad",
"the life they know",
I watch  and  remember what it was like to be so full of life, hope, and anticipation of great things to come.  The promise that lies ahead for Michael, and soon enough for Eilis and Erin
and even Kellyannne is what I am beginning to see unfold.
My prayer is that they go and live confidently according to the plans God has set for them.
I pray that I can cheer them on, not hold them back; listen without judging;
support their dreams, not question them.
And when I fail, I pray for their forgiveness.

So, to Michael, for opening my eyes to a bigger world, thank you.
Your intellect will never cease to astound me.
To Eilis, for making me smile, thank you.  Your confidence will always inspire me.
To Erin, for reminding me that life is beautiful, thank you.  Your sensitivity will humble me.
And, to Kellyanne, for loving unconditionally, thank you.  Your ability to live in the moment will teach me the secret to happiness.

Cheers then.

(one of my favorite English sayings, heard daily)
